TEACHING METHODS
What sets Robin apart as a dancer is her technique, styling and her understanding of how dancing works the way it does. What sets her apart as an instructor is her method for sharing that information with her students and getting them to learn how to be good dancers beyond just dancing steps. Robin has been praised for being thorough, easy and patient with her students. She also incorporates these practices into her group classes:

  • Partner Rotation: Robin uses the practice of rotating students in the class. Students who enroll should be willing and comfortable with this.
  • Weekly Review: At the top of each class, Robin conducts a brief review of the prior week's material. This allows the students to refresh their memories; however, students are expected to practice outside of class rather than relying on that weekly review. Students who miss a class are encouraged to schedule a make-up session with Robin in order to get caught up with the class material.

CLASS POLICIES
Just a few guidelines to keep us gliding along... These generally apply to monthly series that follow a syllabus.

  • No drop-ins will be allowed for the monthly series without prior instructor approval.
  • Dancers must have completed the Level I series before moving up to the Level II or have approval to bump up. Simply ask us where you fit, and we'll help place you in the correct level!
  • Each class follows a specially designed syllabus that matches the nationally recognized moves, techniques and styling in that dance. These series will tend to repeat at a later date.
  • From time to time, Robin will offer specialty series to present exciting and unique material!
